As clearly stated in the Code of Conduct of the Kyokuto Boeki Group Companies (“Group”) and other documents, COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS AND REGULATIONS AS WELL AS FAIR AND FAITHFUL BUSINESS ACTIVITIES are the Group’s basic principles and indispensable prerequisite. We can tick off a number of examples of the companies that have threatened its existence by losing confidence in society by means of wrongdoing. It is not in a company’s interest to engage in wrongdoing, and the responsibility will also fall on each company member who engaged in even if he thought it was for the benefit of the company. If the Group won’t be able to keep a going concern without turning its hand to wrongdoing, we will withdraw from such business.
The Group now declares that the management will take the initiative and set good examples to promote corporate compliance and ensure its observance to all members of the staff. I, the President and C.E.O., hereby give all executives and employees of the Group the strict order to adhere to the corporate policy of compliance and to always fulfill assigned duties in accordance with laws, regulations and public decency.
